The MWOTY family was deeply saddened to last month hear of the sudden passing of long-standing MWOTY supporter Drew Cockton.
MWOTY Founding Director, Ellie Kerr, said: “We would sincerely like to pay tribute to Drew Cockton, owner of successful home fragrance brand, Owen Drew, and founder of the North West LGBTQ+ Business Awards, who sadly died at his home in October.
“He was a great supporter of Merseyside Women of the Year and we are deeply saddened by the loss of a true entrepreneur, a genuine person, who has been taken away too soon. Drew had time for everyone and his compassion and understanding has touched the hearts of many.
“His death came less than 24 hours after holding the second LGBTQ+ Business Awards at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool with hundreds of guests attending. Drew will be deeply missed by so many across the Liverpool City Region. Our thoughts remain with his family and friends at this very difficult time.”
