St Helens Bees Netball Club celebrated a swarm of nominations at the North West Netball One Awards on Sunday 7th July – and came home with a win!
The club had nominations in five categories including, unsung hero award (two nominees), Coach of The Year (four nominees), Young Volunteer Of The Year (two nominees), Club Of The Year and Pioneer of The Year, which club founder Leanne Hobin was nominated for.
The North West Netball One Awards reward incredible volunteers, working in a host of different capacities, across the North West. Some of the amazing women at St Helens Bees Netball Club attended the event and Leanne came away with the accolade of North West Netball Pioneer of The Year for all her voluntary work relating to the club and the opportunities she gives to children aged 3-9 years old and the wider community, through netball.
The win came just a week after Leanne was named runner-up in the Inspirational Women category at the MWOTY 2024 awards, for founding the junior netball club in September 2021, after recognising a gap in the market for the younger generation to be able to play netball and be part of a team sport.
Leanne will now head to the National One Awards in October to face the regional winners of her category – congratulations Leanne and good luck!
