We originally attended the Merseyside Women of the Year (MWOTY) awards three years ago, in 2016. We were so inspired and blown away by the stories of remarkable women who were doing incredible things across the region.
We knew straight away it was something we wanted to support and be involved with, so we decided to start sponsoring the Young Female Apprentice of the Year category. We have sponsored the awards under our previous brand, Alder Training, for the past two years. We recently changed our name to The Learning Foundry, and this will be our first year sponsoring the Young Apprentice Award under our new brand.
The Learning Foundry is one of the largest training providers in the region and we work with many of the inspiring women who make Merseyside an amazing place to live and work. We believe that we should shout about those people and champion their successes and so it was an easy decision to sponsor MWOTY.
This year, the awards also give us a chance to promote our new brand which has been developed to represent how The Learning Foundry has evolved since joining The Regenda Group. At The Learning Foundry we work with people on a daily basis to overcome barriers and support development. We understand the importance of personal growth, aspiration and hard work, and all of these traits are celebrated in the award categories something which separates MWOTY from many of the other business-focused awards.
We love hearing about all of the amazing personal achievements of the many women nominated for awards during the judging day and at the event. There is also a real legacy to MWOTY with winners and finalists continuing to support one another to grow and develop.
We really enjoy the regular events that lead up to the awards ceremony. They provide a great opportunity to network with businesses who share our values and culture, and we get to share ideas on how we can support our communities.
The judging day is particularly emotional. You can really sense the pride around the room as you discuss the many different nominations and read about each woman’s achievements. Thankfully I only cried once which I was proud of.
It is a natural fit for The Learning Foundry to sponsor the Young Apprentice of the Year award. Developing young people and supporting them in the early stages of their career are two of the main reasons why we all come to work every day.
We also get to network with like-minded organisations, and this can often help us win new business and develop further opportunities for our learners.
MWOTY also champions women who are making a difference in their communities and everyone involved is supportive of each other. The awards offer us a great opportunity to meet like-minded businesses who we can support in their development and growth. It is also a chance for some of our younger staff to attend an inspiring awards event.
The Merseyside Women of the Year Awards provide a fantastic platform for nominees from a range of backgrounds. This can be hugely beneficial in helping many smaller organisations or individuals grow and expand their networks.
It is also a great chance to celebrate females across Merseyside and spread a positive message to those who might be facing barriers in their career. The nominees stories can provide a message of hope to others and give the women in attendance faith, courage and confidence.
It’s more than an award ceremony. It’s a celebration of great women doing great things. It is uplifting, inspiring and emotional. There isn’t anything like this in the region.
