Women to Watch 2023 winner, Lucky Ali, has announced the return of Lucky’s Café+ Community Free Hot Meals Initiative for this summer!
Building on the incredible success of last winter’s rollout, which ran from December 2023 to February 2024, Lucky’s Cafe+ is continuing its mission to support those in need. Last winter, the initiative provided more than 675 free hot meals to families within its community.
Lucky said: “The response was overwhelming and heartwarming, demonstrating the profound impact of coming together to support one another. Seeing the smiles and relief on the faces of our local residents reaffirmed our commitment to this cause.
“This summer, Lucky’s Café+ is bringing back this initiative with the same spirit and dedication. Our goal is to ensure that families, especially those struggling on the Wirral and other parts of Liverpool City Region, have access to nutritious and comforting meals. We understand that the challenges of food insecurity do not disappear with the change of seasons, and we are here to make a difference.”
The initiative is vital due to the cost of living crisis, which has made it increasingly difficult for many families to afford basic necessities, including food and with kids out of school during the summer, many families also lose access to school meals, which are a vital source of daily nutrition.
Beyond providing meals, this initiative strengthens our community by bringing people together. Sharing a meal fosters connections and builds a supportive network for those facing hardships. The cafe is working with Wirral Shahjalal Mosque and Wirral Council to make a positive impact on the local community
Lucky’s Cafe+ is open everyday except for Wednesday. You can drop in between 10am and 6pm to enjoy a hot, nourishing meal on the house.
Lucky added: “Whether you’re facing a difficult time or know someone who could use a little extra warmth, our doors are open to you. Our commitment to the community goes beyond providing a meal; it’s about creating a welcoming space where everyone feels valued and cared for.”
