Wednesday 8th March will see organisations across Merseyside celebrating International Women’s Day (IWD) and its 2023 theme #EmbraceEquity – because equality is no longer enough.

Celebrating the Legacy of Women in Innovation on International Women’s Day

9:30am – 12:30pm

Join Innovate UK’s Women in Innovation (WiI) programme to celebrate its legacy. They believe we have come a long way, but we can continue to accomplish so much more, together.

The free event will bring together remarkable advocates for equality in business innovation, and many Women in Innovation Award winners as part of the legacy celebration. The newest cohort of Women in Innovation award winners will also be announced.

Kaleidoscope Plus Group & John Lewis Celebrate International Women’s Day

5:30pm – 7:30pm

Join Kaleidoscope Plus Group at John Lewis for an evening celebrating women. There will be talks from Kylie Gilson, Head of Branch at John Lewis, Louise Carragher, Mayor of Sefton and Afrah Qassim, CEO of Savera UK, exploring the importance of inclusion and diversity and how we can forge for equality for all women. There will be tips from the personal styling team, a raffle, mini treatments and goody bags too.

International Women’s Day Celebration 

6.00pm till 11.00pm

Savera UK in partnership with the Police and Crime Commissioner for Merseyside, Central Liverpool Primary Care Network, RASA (Rape & Sexual Abuse) Centre Merseyside, Brownlow Health, PREV Merseyside Violence Reduction Partnership, Mary Seacole House, Amani Services, Women Reach Women and others are holding an event to celebrate International Women’s Day.

You are invited to the PAL Centre to #Embrace Equity and ‘come join us and celebrate being a woman’.

The event will celebrate International Women’s Day and raise awareness of the challenges that continue to be faced by many women. At the event there will be guest speakers, information and activities that women can get involved in.
