Businesswoman, broadcaster and Dragons Den star, Sara Davies MBE, has been revealed as special guest speaker at Raise Up, a first of its kind Social Mobility and Youth Summit designed to power up social mobility across the Region.
Created by 2014’s Merseyside Woman of the Year, Sara Lawton, Raise Up features an impressive list of speakers including this year’s MWOTY Woman of the Year, Steph Barney, CEO and founder of Girls on the Go.
The summit is a day of two halves, with the morning half dedicated to employers with Channel 4 opening the day with their Gen Z insights, followed by UK social mobility leaders including the Social Mobility Commission, the Social Mobility Foundation, The EY Foundation and Sir Andy Cooke, who will discuss the value of social mobility to both business and young people, following a fireside chat with special guest, Broadcaster and Journalist Ashley John-Baptise.
The morning will close with UK charity Movement to Work launching a brand new initiative for young people called YouthPath.
The second half of the summit kicks off with 300 Gen Z’s joining employers for an afternoon of food and inspiration from leading local Businesses and Entrepreneurs, who will showcase a variety of sectors who can offer young people opportunities. Microsoft and Accenture will be delivering AI sessions with the formidable Sara Davies MBE as the afternoon’s special guest.
With almost 1,000,000 young people not in education, employment or training, the summit is a much-needed addition to the City’s business calendar. Members of the MWOTY movement are encouraged to rally around the young people who need us,
