MWOTY 2023 Entrepreneur winner, Emma Jarvis, has secured £25,000 for her product Dearbump.

Dearbump is a revolutionary product aimed at addressing the significant gaps in maternal healthcare worldwide, by providing expecting mothers with comprehensive support and information and access to expert health professionals throughout their pregnancy journey.

The tech startup was one of three based in Liverpool City Region crowned winners of Baltic Ventures’ pilot Launchpad programme, from a cohort of 14 businesses. The three winners were awarded a share of a £50,000 cash prize. Dearbump received the top prize of £25k, while fellow winners EdenFiftyOne and MetPsy received £12.5k each.

According to Baltic Ventures the Launchpad programme is a cohort-based programme that is designed to enable exciting early-stage companies to grow as quickly, efficiently and sustainably as possible by working with them to develop an investment backable value proposition. Over the last six months, founding teams were given access to monthly masterclasses, 1:1 coaching and an opportunity to pitch for an equity-free cash prize. Speaking of the Launchpad, Emma said: “The programme was an incredible opportunity to work with a community of experts and founders. It has helped me to reflect on my mission and vision for Dearbump and be more laser focused on achieving product market fit.

“We now have a clear plan on how to move forward and the prize money will be used to grow the team and help us achieve our mission to improve maternal health outcomes globally. Thank you to everyone at the Baltic Ventures team for being so supportive.”

Using the funds secured through the launchpad programme, Dearbump will be recruiting a Head of Commercial and Community Manager
