Brownlow Health Primary Care Network is a leading, award-winning group of four NHS GP practices located in and around Liverpool city centre, including a dedicated, on-campus Student Health Centre serving the Liverpool student community. We provide primary care to over 90,000 patients across some of the most diverse and complex communities in the region.
Our commitment to accessible, high-quality care is reflected in our Care Quality Commission ratings, with Brownlow Central rated ‘Outstanding’ and our other practices rated ‘Good’. As a partnership of GP practices and multidisciplinary teams, Brownlow Health PCN delivers inclusive, compassionate healthcare while actively addressing the wider social determinants of health.
The network has a strong track record of innovation, collaboration and advocacy, particularly in supporting women, families, people experiencing homelessness, refugees and asylum seekers, students, and other underserved communities. In 2025, this work received national recognition, including a Health Service Journal Award for our Refugee & Asylum Seeker Clinic and the RCGP and Marie Curie Daffodil Standard Award for excellence in homeless end-of-life care.
With a workforce of around 300 staff supported by central management, IT, HR and administrative teams, Brownlow Health is deeply committed to workforce diversity and inclusive leadership. We strive to ensure our organisation reflects the communities we serve and work in close partnership with local organisations to improve health, wellbeing and opportunity across the Liverpool City Region.
“At Brownlow Health, we see every day the extraordinary contribution women make — in healthcare, in families, in communities and in leadership across our region. Supporting Merseyside Women of the Year is about recognising those contributions, celebrating achievement in all its forms, and creating visible role models for the next generation of women leaders. In a region defined by resilience, diversity and compassion, it’s vital that women’s voices and successes are seen, valued and celebrated. Sponsoring MWOTY aligns completely with our commitment to equity, community and empowerment, and we’re incredibly proud to support an initiative that champions women shaping Merseyside’s future.”
