On Thursday 17th October saw the return of the Merseyside Independent Business Awards (MIBS) 2024.
Founded in 2013 by Morecrofts Solicitors (who were also a fabulous MWOTY category sponsor this year) and now a firm favourite in the city’s social calendar, the MIBS were designed to platform and celebrate independent businesses, their owners and those who support them.
MWOTY Founding Director, Ellie Kerr, once again hosted a table at the awards, bringing together members of the MWOTY movement for an evening of celebration and networking.
The MWOTY movement was also well-represented in the MIBS 2024 winning line up, with MWOTY 2024 finalist, Kiera Vogel from Senate Group being named Business Person of the Year and MWOTY 2023 Arts, Media & Culture winner, Katumba taking Health & Wellbeing Business of the Year.
MWOTY supporters Hope Street Hotel, which earlier in the week hosted the MWOTY Leaders Lunch, was awarded Culture & Tourism Business of the Year and Wong’s Jewellers took home the Retailer of the Year award and the coveted title of Overall Merseyside Independent Business of the Year.
Speaking about the awards, Alison Lobb, Managing Partner at Morecrofts Solicitors, said: “Independent businesses are the backbone of Merseyside’s economy, and it’s incredibly important to recognise the resilience and innovation these businesses bring to our region.
“We are thrilled to celebrate their successes, and it is incredible to see the strong community spirit which unites these diverse enterprises.”
Congratulations to all the finalists and winners and thank you to Morecrofts for another fabulous event!
