We understand that it is a concerning and uncertain time for all of us right now. We’re all just getting to grips with how life – business and personal – is going to need to adapt as the coronavirus outbreak continues. It’s scary and it’s quite hard to know the best course of action.
Here at MWOTY HQ, we’re doing what we do best – rolling up our sleeves (using our very well-washed hands) and dealing with the situation day-by-day. We’re in regular contact with our venue, sponsors and suppliers. We’re hoping for the best and looking forward to a happy and healthy event in June, but we’re also planning for all other eventualities and will be communicating any changes as early as possible.
All that we can do right now is put our positive pants on and keep spreading the sparkle, with stories from our winners over the last ten years and a drive to nominate new and fabulous finalists for 2020.
Things are tough right now, but if we know one thing about the MWOTY family and the incredible people of the Liverpool City Region, it’s that it sticks together and gets through things. This isn’t going to be any different.
Our official statement is below. Stay safe, healthy and look after one another.

The organisers of the Merseyside Women of the Year (MWOTY) awards said: “We are monitoring the situation regarding COVID-19 closely and following Liverpool City Council, government and WHO advice with regards to our event in June.
There is understandable concern around the situation, but as MWOTY 2020 is still several months away we will continue to work with our partners and sponsors to plan a safe and successful event, with contingency planning in place in the event of a postponement.
We are reviewing our position regularly and implementing plans in accordance with any updates to government and WHO advice. Any changes will be communicated as soon as possible via our website merseysidewomenoftheyear.co.uk and social channels.”
