Let’s Be Blunt CIC
Women of Courage – Winner

After training as a primary school teacher at Edge Hill University, Leanne taught at Churchtown Primary School in her hometown of Southport before working overseas, later qualifying as a children's yoga teacher and counsellor. In 2024, she survived the Southport attack, sustaining serious injuries and experiencing lasting trauma. Leanne turned personal tragedy into purpose, using her voice and professional experience to influence national conversations around prevention, education and safety. Through Let's Be Blunt CIC, she now works with schools, councils, police forces, health services and businesses to reduce knife harm through practical, prevention-led change. Leanne also advocates for trauma-informed approaches centred on young people, families and early intervention.
