Using her own life experience Sue set up a support group Combat PTSD Angels to help carers of veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) by running monthly meetings and an online support group.

She has helped over 400 families cope with the demands of day to day life when their world has been turned upside down. The wait between diagnosis and treatment can be a long one and Sue makes that time bearable for those families.  She offers advice and support to loved ones of veterans, this has resulted in lives being saved.

Sue has intervened at the worst times in people’s lives and helps them to see that things can be okay, directs them to tangible help and gives them a sense of worth to make their own lives better. Sue has not had any formal training, she achieves all this without funding and continues to raise awareness.
