As we begin our preparations for the Merseyside Women of the Year Awards 2023, we caught up with category sponsor and our partner in the Merseyside Women’s Fund, Community Foundation for Merseyside, for an update on how monies raised at the 2022 awards will be used.
The vision of the Merseyside Women’s Fund is to break down the barriers that affect girls and women in Merseyside. This fund directly supports local charities and grassroots community groups who deal with issues that undermine the quality of life and futures of women in our area.
The Community Foundation for Merseyside is pleased to announce that the Women’s Fund will shortly be investing up to £25,000, from funding provided by MWOTY fundraising and the FredMill Trust, into charities and community groups that are led by women for women, and will help to support projects and services that:
- Increase confidence, aspiration, self-belief and resilience
- Make a positive difference to the lives of women suffering from domestic violence and abuse
- Support mental health and wellbeing
- Reduce social isolation
We would like to express our huge thanks to MWOTY for their continued support of the Merseyside Women’s fund, including the promotion, fundraising efforts and contributions to decision-making.
Anyone can donate any amount to the fund, whether an individual, charitable Trust, corporate or an SME. Together we can make a difference to the lives of women in Merseyside.
