The Team 1C Stars and Stripes Ball, which took place on Saturday 30th September, has raised £25,000 for a range of incredible charities.

The beneficiaries of the funds are Whiston & St Helen’s Hospital Charity, Ronald McDonald House Liverpool, Liverpool Women’s Hospital Charity and Smiling Hearts Charity, who will be doing heart surgery camp in India in honour of Ollie Alderson, who was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy in 2015 and had a heart transplant the following year, but sadly died earlier this year at the age of 18.

The ball, which was packed with music, entertainment and plenty of dancing, raised £24,919 which the charity’s Trustees topped up, to round the figure up to the incredible £25,000.

Team 1C founder, Claire Cathcart won the Inspirational Women award, sponsored by the Community Foundation for Merseyside, at the 2023 ceremony. The charity is dedicated to children born with congenital heart defects and was founded after Claire’s oldest child, Jake, was born with a very rare heart condition.

Team 1C fundraised more than £100,000 for a range of charities before it became a charity in its own right, offering support to families both here in the North West and in the developing world.
