MWOTY 2022 Social Impact award winner, Natalie Denny, will publish her second book Keisha Jones is a Force of Nature on 1st February 2024.
Following the success of her debut fiction, Keisha Jones Takes on the World, which was published by Little Tiger UK in 2023, Natalie’s latest book is another novel for older children (ages 8 – 12), focusing on the activism of the heroine of the series, Keisha Jones.
In Natalie’s latest offering, Keisha discovers that the trees in her nearby park are going to be cut down to make way for a carpark. The Bee Squad, formed by Keisha to stamp down injustices, embarks on some green activism to save the VITs or ‘Very Important Trees’.
Natalie was named winner of the Social Impact category in 2022 for her own activism. This included her work raising awareness and helping some of the most vulnerable people in the community through organisations and projects including Skywriters Ltd, The Goddess Projects, Scouse Solidarity Sisters, Anthony Walker Foundation and The Period Project Merseyside.
Speaking to the Liverpool Echo in 2023, after securing the two-book deal with Little Tiger UK, Natalie said: “Keisha is a great character full of ideas, energy, spirit, has a heart of gold and a passion to fight injustice and make the world a better place. It’s important girls have access to characters and stories that inspire and empower them.”
