We are inviting Nominations from anyone for their Women of the Year 2017. These are the unsung heroines doing works and deeds beyond the call of everyday life either where they live or work and are making major differences to other people’s lives.
Now in its 15th year the Awards are held on Friday 30th June 2017 at the Crowne Plaza, it is now the biggest event for Women on Merseyside. The previous “Woman of the Year” winner Roz Tranfield will be coming along on the day. Roz said “winning Merseyside Woman of the Year award has undoubtedly raised the profile of Clatterbridge Cancer Unit and I have been able to use these prestigious awards as platform to raise awareness of the wonderful work they do that impacts on people across Merseyside”.
Nominations can be submitted via the website, www.merseysidewomenoftheyear.co.uk/about/nominate by the closing date of midnight Friday 28th April 2017 and then a list of the finalists will be published on the website for voting purposes – Public voting will close on Monday 12th June 2017 at 4.59pm, for whom the public think should be the Merseyside Woman of the Year 2017.
The Organisers of the Event, Jean Gadsby, Ellie Kerr and Elaine Owen, do not want this to be an ordinary fund raising for Charity event, but instead have pledged an enduring legacy for the future, raising funds for various charitable causes. Last year the event raised over £13,000 for the local charity Cash for Kids and in the past have gifted bursaries to LJMU students. This year the Awards event will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Liverpool Waterfront, on Friday 30th June 2017 at 12.00pm.
It is an afternoon, which is truly one of the most inspirational, uplifting and thought provoking events in the Merseyside calendar and it epitomises the “fabulousness” of women.
